Click the map to place Hubs or Delivery locations. Delivery locations must be within the shaded area (return range) of a Hub or Pod Swap.
If a new Hub is within the one-way range of an existing Hub, you can optionally convert it to a Pod Swap.

Help

What you're building: a simple hub-and-spoke drone logistics network with optional mid-way Pod Swap charging sites to extend the delivery radius.

Hub: where deliveries originate and where drones are stored and maintained.

Pod Swap: a charger location where the drone lands to swap batteries before continuing onward.

How to use:

1) Choose a drone type (KITE or Kookaburra). This changes the return radius (shaded) and one-way (dashed) spacing rules because of the range difference. It also changes the costs.
2) Select Add Hub and click the map to place hubs. If you create a new hub within the hub<->hub threshold of an existing hub (shown with the dashed line), you can convert it to a Pod Swap.
3) Select Add Delivery and click the map to place delivery points. By default, a delivery will be linked to the closest Hub or Pod Swap. You can click on the location to switch. If a delivery is placed outside of the return range of any Hub, it will appear in red.
4) Open the calculator and select the delivery frequency to see an estimated operating cost for your network (USD). Increasing or decreasing the delivery frequency will change the number of drones required for your network.
5) Optionally, switch between KITE and Kookaburra to compare costs and operating ranges.
